TBC is an experimental installation combining clay masks, printmaking, gold leaf and moving image. The work explores the River Thames as a place of movement, memory and disruption, where surfaces carry traces of contact, pressure and change. Rather than making direct representations, the masks are used to produce imprints and residues, allowing the image to emerge through touch, damage and process. The projected film moves across the objects and prints, continually shifting the work between presence and disappearance.

 Work in progress

Clay masks, bisque fired and gilded with gold leaf.

Inked and pressed onto paper to produce traces rather than representations.

A film made on the Thames projects moving water and light across the work, continually disrupting the surfaces.

Between object and imprint, repair and damage, the face remains only as a residue.

The work was part of the LSFMD Doctoral and Staff Symposium Trajectories 2026, University of West London.
